How to get to Münster and to the conference building

Public transport in Münster

Your free „Willkommen! Ticket Münster“ entitles you to free trips by bus and train within the city limits of Münster throughout the duration of the conference. How to get to the conference building “Franz Hitze Haus“ by bus

At Münster central train station please enter bus no. 2 - in travelling direction to “Alte Sternwarte“ – or bus no. 33/34 to the bus stop „Franz-Hitze-Haus“ or buses no. 11, 12, 13, 14 or 22 – until reaching the bus stop „Jungeblodtplatz“, followed by a 10 min. walk to the academy.  

By car

The “Franz Hitze Haus“ can be reached by car via the autobahns A 1 and A 43: Exit at “Münster-Süd“ (A1/A 43) and follow Weseler Straße into the city centre until reaching Koldering (turn left) or exit at “Münster-Nord“ (A1) and follow Steinfurter Straße until reaching Orleans-Ring (turn right).

Parking areas are available at Niels-Stensen-Straße and in the car park Kardinal-von-Galen-Ring 55 (opposite to “Franz Hitze Haus“), after 06.00 pm and on weekends  further parking areas are available in the car park of the Caritas (Entrance via Vesaliusweg). The car park of the Caritas may also be used throughout the entire conference.

Conference building “Akademie Franz Hitze Haus“

This academy is an institution of the diocese in Münster and it is not far away from Münster’s downtown area. Moreover, the “Franz Hitze Haus“ is located in a widespread recreation area near the central city lake Aasee. In 1959 the building was inaugurated as an innovative institution for adult education. The building is clearly structured into living, work and leisure spaces. Permanent art expositions are held and invite to marvel at exhibits of modern art. The entire hotel area is an integral part of the academy. All features of the “Franz Hitze Haus“ are designed to enable fruitful encounters and to create a comfortable and efficient conference atmosphere.
